Connecticut Transportation
Because many of the roads mimic the use of rivers for transportation, Connecticut has more north-south roads than east-west. Connecticut also has many interstates:
I-95: Also called the Connecticut Turnpike, it runs southwest to northeast along the Connecticut coast.
I-84: I-84 runs southwest to northeast through the center of the state.
I-91: I-91 runs north-south through the center of the state.
I-395: I-395 runs north-south--near the eastern border.
I-95: I-95 connects New Haven and New York City. Because it connects two large and busy cities, it is one of the most congested highways in the entire United States--which, of course, adds to rush hour.
